Happy Presidents Day!
Today is Presidents Day and so I had chosen to post this famous quote by our 36th President Lyndon B. Johnson, “Yesterday Is Not Ours To Recover, But Tomorrow Is Ours To Win Or Lose!”. I have to say I chose this quote weeks in advance but yet it is completely relevant for what is happening in my business/life at this moment.
My Yesterday!
You see I started my blog just over a year ago, Jan 1st, 2018 to be exact. I had high hopes and big goals. I just knew that by the end of the year I would have a million followers and a billion subscribers. And everyone in the blogging community would know my name! Boy was I wrong!
But honestly, how could I expect to grow if I wasn’t consistently putting out quality material. Or even any material for that matter. In fact, I went months without posting any new content or even working on any part of my business. And by the end of the year I felt pretty horrible about it.
I beat myself up over it, time and time again. I thought if I could just go back in time and really commit, my brand would have a bigger reach right now, my business would be more successful, I would be more known on social media!
Have you ever been there! Wishing you could go back in time and redo something?
The truth was I couldn’t go back! I couldn’t redo the past year! I couldn’t recover any of the time I wasted. And there was no use beating myself about it! I realized all I can do is push forward, and make the choice and effort to take control over this year, one day at a time.
Taking Control Of My Tomorrow!
And so I have, I have been consistently posting on my blog, diligently sending out my weekly wrap up newsletter, posting to social media on a regular basis and just this past week I signed up to be a vendor at a French country market near my town.
I made the conscious choice to leave my yesterday in the past and take control of my tomorrow! And for that I am winning!
So as our President Lyndon B. Johnson put it – “Yesterday Is Not Ours To Recover, But Tomorrow Is Ours To Win Or Lose!”
I hope from this post, my experience and from the words of our President, you realize nothing comes from beating yourself up over yesterday, but much can come from taking control of tomorrow!
Let Me Know!
Is there a time you wish you could go back and redo? Have you been beating yourself up about something you can’t take back? Are you going to leave the past in the past and take control of your tomorrow? Let me know in the comments, I would love to hear your thoughts!
