Drink More Water
Today we are talking about how to drink more water on a daily basis. Drinking our daily recommended amount is crucial to our health. But I know just how difficult it can be to achieve that goal.
I used to be addicted to soda pop, one of the unhealthiest drinks out there. I would literally have it every morning, as if it was my coffee, to get me going. But ever since I started my #BossChícJourney, I have been working on becoming a healthier me. This meant kicking pop to the curb, and replacing it with the exact opposite – water. And not only did I want to replace my pop consumption with water, I also wanted to make sure I was drinking my daily recommended amount of water.
During this process I found some easy tips to help me with my water goals. And I just knew that I had to share them with you! So without further ado…
12 Easy Tips To Help You Drink More Water!
- Start the day off right and drink a glass of water right after you brush your teeth.
- Drink from a larger glass – When you drink from a larger glass you are just as likely to finish it as you would a small one. Which means more water!
- Eater your water – Many vegetables and fruits contain a large amount of H2O. Some examples are watermelon, strawberries, cucumber and lettuce.
- Keep track of your water consumption – You can have a dedicated jug to help you keep track of your water consumption or there are mobile apps you can download to help monitor how much water you have drank.
- Bring a water bottle while you are on the go – If you have water on hand while you are on the go you are less likely to purchase a sugary, unhealthy drink when you get parched.
- Keep an eye out for water fountains – Knowing where the water fountains are will help you keep your water bottle filled with the healthy goodness!
- Buy a pretty water bottle – When you have a pretty water bottle you are more likely to take it out and about and show it off!
- Find the right water bottle for you – When I first started drinking more water I would get irritated by my water bottles and found myself leaving them behind. Then I made it a mission to find My perfect water bottle. I looked for a bottle that would fit in all my usual drink holders (such as my car, gym equipment, bike and so on). Also I looked for on that was easy to clean. I didn’t want to fuss with cleaning any straws or little contraptions. And I wanted on that held a lot of water but was not to tall as to where it fell over easily.
- Drink a glass of water before every meal – Not only does this help you consume more water but it will help to keep you from over eating.
- Flavor your water – Now I am not a fan of flavored water but so many of my family and friends use this tip to get more water in.
- Have a glass of water on your nightstand – If you wake up and find your self parched you will have water on hand. And in the morning drink what ever is water is left from that night.
I do want to mention that I am not a physician and I recommend you speak to your primary doctor to see what she/he recommends for your daily amount of water intake. Also be sure to ask which of these tips are suitable for you.
