My #BossChícJourney
As you all may or may not know by now, the #BossChícJourney is about becoming the best you, you can be. And on my personal Journey I have decided to take control of my health. One of the ways I decided to do this is by exercising regularly. Now I know this isn’t going to be an easy journey for me. And I’m probably not going to begin exercising SO regularly at first. But I feel as long as I start and every day, every week I improve and I exercise more and more on a regular basis, than I am full filling this journey, No matter how slow or fast I get there, I will be getting there.
I didn’t want to go all in and burn my self out right away. So I decided to take it slowly and at first just try to take a walk every single day. Once I start doing that regularly and my pace and distance become better and better, I plan on starting to jog and run. But for now I am just starting with a walk.
The Benefits Of Walking Daily!
To help motivate me into starting this journey I decided to look up the many benefits of walking daily. After learning how beneficial walking can be I decided I must share this information with you. Because such a small thing as walking a few minutes a day can have huge impact on your health and well being. Below are 12 of the many benefits of walking daily!
- Going for a walk can get your creative juices flowing.
- Walking helps to improve balance and coordination
- It helps to reduce your allergies, by reducing itching, sneezing, congestion, and runny noses.
- Regular walking lowers our blood pressure and blood sugar levels. This helps reduce the risk of diabetes and stroke.
- Walking helps to reduce belly fat. When you walk on a regular basis you body’s response to insulin improves.
- It promotes healthy blood flow, which can help to prevent varicose veins in your legs.
- Walking regularly helps you to get a longer and better quality of sleep.
- A benefit of walking is it is a stress reliever. The “stress hormone” cortisol is cleared out of your system when you move around.
- Regular walking can help boost your mood. by decreasing anger and hostility. Also by walking outdoors you are exposed to natural sunlight, which research shows helps fight off Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). And if you walk with a friend, partner or neighbor, your walk can help boost your mood from the interaction you receive.
- Walking boosts immune functions. This can help you fight off cold and flu.
- It keeps you “regular” by encouraging movement in your GI system
- Walking helps to improve bone density. This can help you to avoid osteoporosis.
