Why Make A DIY Stress Ball
Today I want to show you how to make a DIY Stress Ball. For those times when the world is really weighing down on you. Instead of holding all that aggravation and stress in. Or releasing it in a negative way, you can utilize this stress ball, to work through it.
When we become stressed our bodies tend to build tension. And we clench our fists. This DIY Stress Ball allows you to squeeze and manipulate it with your hands. Allowing you to release some of the tension you have built up. Thus relieving some of the stress. Also as you are directing your attention to squeezing the ball your mind is diverts it from the stressful thoughts running through your mind. Plus the act of squeezing and manipulating the ball enhances circulation through parts of your body and exercises the muscles in your fingers.
What You Will Need
So you see this little ball is not just a toy, but this DIY Stress Ball is a Stress Relief Tool that you can make with just a few, very inexpensive items. You will need the following supplies.
- 1-2 Balloons
- Flower
- Empty Disposable Water Bottle
- Scissors
- Funnel
Lets Get Started
The first thing you want to do is take your funnel and place it in the empty water bottle. Then using the funnel fill the bottle with flour. I had a 16.9oz bottle and filled it just a bit over half way. You can use the point of your scissors to help the flour through the funnel neck and into the balloon, as I did. Next you will want to blow up your balloon and pinch it closed with your thumb and index finger. Do not knot it!
Adding The Flour
Then you want to take the balloon opening and stretch it over the opening of the water bottle filled with flour. Being sure to keep your balloon still pinched closed. Once you have a good seal flip over the water bottle, release your fingers from pinching the balloon and squeeze the flour into it. After you have emptied all the flour into the balloon. Pinch the balloon closed again and take off the water bottle.
Almost Done
Now allow all the extra air to escape the balloon, un-pinching the balloons opening and allowing the air out slowly. You may have a bit of excess flower that comes out. If there is some excess left in the neck of the balloon you will want to empty it out. Next you can either tie off the balloon and have a knot sticking out and be done. Or you can take it another step further.
A Step Further For A Clean Polished Look
I decided to go the extra step, which gives the DIY Stress Ball a clean polished look. To go the extra step you cut off at the very bottom of the neck of the balloon. Then you take your extra balloon and also cut off at the very bottom of the neck. Once you have completed that you will stretch the opening and carefully put it over and around the DIY Stress Ball you made. After you have covered the ball with the extra balloon your stress ball is complete. Yay!!!
