I am one of those people who, no matter how tired I am, when I lay down to go to sleep, my head just starts racing with thoughts. And these thoughts are anything from the smallest most miniscule thing-to the biggest most important life altering thoughts of my life. And there are hundreds of them racing through my brain every single night. Idk…..Its like my pillow is filled with caffeine that my brain starts to absorb the minute it hits it. No matter how hard I try to fall asleep or quite my brain, it just keeps going. And to make matters worst, some of those thoughts pertain to life stresses. Like, “oh my goodness I forgot I have to pick up some sack lunch items for my daughter to take to school tomorrow”. And “when is that bill due again?”. Or “Did I take good enough pictures for my post?”. So now not only is my brain running rapid, but I start to get stressed out/feel anxiety. I know I can not be the only one who has this issue. Am I ladies?
Then you know what happens next!?!? You finally fall asleep after your brain does a few hundred thousand laps in your head, and you wake up so dang exhausted the next day. You feel as if you hadn’t even got a wink of sleep. But the rest of the world does not care. You still have to get up, take the kids to school, go to work, clean the house and do the 50 million other things we must do as superwomen. Story of our lives, right!
Well let me tell you about this wonderful thing I came across. It is an EYE PILLOW. Ok, I know some of you probably of already heard of this thing. But do you know all the benefits it has? Its truly amazing!!!!!! Before I go into all the benefits let me tell you, there are many different kinds of eye pillows. Some are filled with flax seed or dried lavender. Some have essentials oils such as eucalyptus, chamomile or peppermint. Some you put in the freezer before use and some are just very plain. Let me be honest here, I have the very plain one. But even as plain as it maybe, it is still amazing. And at a price point of only $4, I mean you just can’t beat it. And let me tell you Boss Chíc is all about being Chíc on even the smallest of budgets. Now of course, the pillows with more features are gonna cost more. I saw some for as high as $35. And if that is your budget and you want all the bells and whistles, then I say go for it. I’m sure I will upgrade later down the road, now that I know all the benefits of this wonderful little pillow. With that said…….
Let me get into the benefits, so you can see just how amazing it is!
- Eye pillows shield your eyes from light and visual stimuli that can keep you mind running rapid.
- They diminish tension from your forehead down to your shoulders, including your neck, cheekbones, and temples, which helps to produce a full body relaxation.
- The essential oils in the pillows can add to the calming of your mind and help to reduce insomnia and anxiety. They are also very effective against headaches, migraines and sinus problems.
- A refrigerated eye pillow cools the eyes, which also helps to create relaxation.
- They ease irritated itchy and burning eyes that can come from sitting in front of a computer screen or a tv for a long period of time.
- The acupressure on the eyes from the pillow can help stimulate the vagus nerve, which is runs from the brain, through the back, abdomen and into the digestive track. The vagus nerve not only helps with digestion and regulates our heart rate, but it also has an extensive list of other functions.
There you have it….the amazing….the wonderfully terrific EYE PILLOW! Now does that not sound like a whole lot of wellness to you!!!! Sure does to me!
And I hope, if anything, I have at least got you thinking about purchasing one of these great eye pillows! Because if you are like me, it will change your life!
Thanks for reading!
With Love,
Melissa
